Guillemot is a bird species in the Auk family. Black and white as razorbills, but with pointed beak. The weight is between 600-1000 grams. It can not stand on raised legs, but sitting on the whole Tars. Breeds in larger or smaller colonies at bird cliffs in temperated and arctic areas around the northern hemisphere, in Europe south to Portugal.

It breeds in Norway from the west part of Norway and north. Runde, outside Ålesund, is the southernmost major nesting with several thousand pairs of guillemots.

Guillemots and razorbills were totally protected in Norway in 1979.
